Welcome to the AAPM website!
AAPM? A friendly gas station around the corner? The grocery inside the friendly gas station? The time-tested way of delineating daytime and nighttime? Or is this one of those new-in-America jokes? And if you search in Google, it will bring up the American Association of Physicists in Medicine! So you might wonder, is AAPM a bunch of medical specialists?
No to all of the above. AAPM stands for Asian-American Pastoral Ministry. It's a peer learning group organized under the CRC/Lilly Sustaining Pastoral Excellence program (more than a gas station, grocery, meteorological guide, or mind-over-matter technique!) Sounds serious? It does, and we are.
We launched this website as a one-stop source of information for Asian-American pastors, leaders, and congregations belonging to the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRC). And for the rest of the CRC family here and overseas, this is our way of sharing God's amazing work among the called in the Asian CRCs.
Our goal is to make this website simple and useful to help:
- Connect Asian and non-Asian CRCs through culturally-respectful and accessible sharing of information about their life and ministries
- Strengthen and encourage Asian pastors and their churches through peer learning groups focused at a culture of pastoral excellence
- Engage Asian CRCs in interchurch relations and governance at the classical and denominational bodies in the spirit of racial reconciliation, social justice, and wholistic development
- Sustain the health and growth of Asian CRCs through culturally-effective ministry support activities, resources, and partnerships
As you can see, our site is a bare-bone work in progress. No high-tech fancy stuff like what you can see in other sites. It will remain as such so that we can learn more and share how to maintain a minimalist yet effective website without the big bucks and tech knowhow beyond what Asian churches have and can do.
To sum up, we pray and hope this website will be an effective tool to help Connect, Strengthen, Engage, and Sustain more healthy Asian CRCs today and in the future. (We do have dreams too!)
On behalf of my brothers and sisters in the AAPM, I want to thank you for visiting, or returning! And as I've said before, any (and I mean any... but friendly) feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated. And to encourage you to drop me a line or two on our Guest Book or directly to my email, I promise you a free full-tank on your next visit at our friendly gas station! Spread the word!
Glory, praise, and honor to our Sovereign Triune God!
Pastor Fernando del Rosario, AAPM Coordinator (and web-servant)
