This will be the first national gathering of pastors and church leaders representing 41 Southeast Asian and Pacific Island CRCs. It will be held on June 5-7, 2007 at Kuyper College, Grand Rapids, MI. AAPM organized this event in partnership with the CRCNA-Lilly Endowment Sustaining Pastoral Excellence program, Home Missions, World Missions, Kuyper College, local churches and Classes.
Called Leadership Summit with the theme "moving forward through the grace of God," about 70 pastors, women, youth and other church leaders will examine the present health, challenges, and potentials of their churches and transform consensus into a draft action plan for collaborative ministry support and networking.
Rev. Jerry Dykstra, Executive Director of CRCNA, will give the keynote address and devotion. Organizers invited speakers and presenters from the denominational office, agencies, Kuyper College and Calvin Theological Seminary, and Cambodian and Philippine ministry partners of CRCNA who are attending another conference called Worldwide Assembly of Partners of the CRCNA.
AAPM is grateful for financial grants from the SPE Continuing Education Program and Home Missions. Through Home Missions Regional Leaders, calling churches and Classes will also be requested to provide additional financial support to cover the travel expenses of pastors and leaders who will attend the Leadership Summit. AAPM also thanks Kuyper College through its President, Dr. Nick Kroeze, and Dr. Gary Teja, professor and AAPM advisor, for their hospitality and accommodating spirit before and throughout the Summit.
