Ministry Resources...
This is our first step in sharing resources with Asian-American CRC pastors, churches, and anyone who are interested in what is called Asian-American. Our purpose is not just to list resources, but to make sense of the countless resources out there and instead recommend only those that had been actually used and found effective by men and women engaged in Asian-American ministries. This is our idea, and we hope we can do it... with your help.
For now, we present the following and hope to expand these by hearing from you. Email me what you found useful for your own ministry and personal/family life, could be books, websites, publications, organizations, instructional/music CDs and DVDs, training/educational materials and programs. (Do I hear anyone asking for Oriental cookbooks, origami tips, or a beginner's guide for wrestling Asian elephants? Hhhmmm...)
Note: Items that are not hyperlinked are not available online for download. These will usually be the books, unless they're online somewhere. If you're interested further, send me email or search in Google. When a file is asterisked (*), it is a large file and will take time to view/download.
Just like what my 3-year old grandson fondly says, "Here we go!"

Some websites with beginner-type tech helps (please send us what you found useful; generally, be careful of questionable sites that provide 'free anything' when in fact they could be planting spyware on your system):
About.com
HowStuffWorks.com
Malektips.com
Google.com (type 'tech tips' or 'computer tips')
PCMag.com (for tech product reviews, compare prices, and downloads)
PCWorld.com (same services as above)
Cnet.com (same services as above)
Internet security, anti-virus, anti-spyware, software updates, etc.
FreeConferenceCall.com - AAPM uses this provider. We used to spend at least $60.00 per group call; now it's free. The number you call though is not toll-free so make sure you're on an unlimited long-distance account or schedule conference calls on Saturdays (free on your cell phones, right?).
Lavasoft.com (Ad-Aware Personal SE anti-spyware free download)
Trendmicro.com (FREE online anti-virus scan of your computer; if you can buy the $39 Internet Security Suite 2006 from Amazon.com with $25 upgrade rebate); cheaper and better to use than Norton; I switched from Norton to TrendMicro's PC-Cillin
Spybot.com (another free online service to catch spyware, worms, virus)
Microsoft Office Updates (free downloads, updates, and tips)
Microsoft Windows Updates (use this if you're using Windows; it's best to set up your PC to do "Automatic Updates")
Improve the font display and readability on your flat panel or laptop. Click Microsoft's ClearType Tuner.
OpenOffice Suite Software (This is a FREE office suite software just like Microsoft Office. It consists of word-processing [WRITER], spreadsheet [CALC], slides presentation [IMPRESS], simple graphics tools [DRAW], and database [BASE] programs. Check it out - it's really FREE! I haven't used it but it sounds like a reliable program because it's a multi-platform, multi-language open-source software in collaboration with Sun Microsystems.)
Please suggest tech helps, web links, or computer tips that you've found simple, useful, and affordable. Email Fernando.
