SEAPI
CRCs' websites coming up...
We will feature websites of SEAPI CRCs when they
become available. We figured you may not be able to easily go to where they are, but you can certainly get to know their congregations
and ministries through their websites. For starters, check these out -

Yes, there is a Little Saigon in Westminster, Southern California! And at the heart of the city that hosts one of
the largest communities of Vietnamese people in the U.S. is a Christian Reformed Church. Its pastor Rev. Matthew Le, had been
actively training leaders, young and old, men and women, and reaching out to the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
and also through classes on citizenship, English as a second language, and computer training for adults. In its facility,
Little Saigon CRC also hosts a Korean church and Indonesian CRC. It is a busy and well-utilized church building! Praise the
Lord!
Have a taste of their church life and ministry. Visit their website, www.littlesaigonchurch.com. To view pictures of members being baptized by Pastor Matthew and from their 25th church anniversary, go to GoogolePhotos. Rev. Al Mulder of CRC Home Missions was guest speaker during the celebration last September. What an honor to God!

Peer Learning Joint Retreat

- WHO: 24 pastors,
spouses, and a youth leader from two SEAPI peer learning groups (East and West)
- WHEN: June 3-5, 2008
- WHERE: rustic Long Scraggy Mountain Ranch Christian camp in Buffalo Creek, CO
- GOALS: to deepen and
strengthen participants' spiritual formation and determine core ministry needs and issues among the SEAPI CRCs
- REFERENCE: With the book "Sacred Pathways" (by Gary Thomas),
participants critically reflected on the richness and diversity of ways in knowing and worshiping our Triune God. The group
concluded that the Holy Scriptures must be the ultimate basis and measure of spiritual formation aside from the unique personal
temperaments God created us with.
- OUTCOMES: Read
all about it when the Retreat Report is posted soon.
- SPECIAL THANKS: Third CRC in Denver for transportation and financial support; Pastor John Kim, his wife, and
congregation for numerous onsite arrangements leading to a great retreat; Classis Holland and Classis Wisconsin for additional
financial support; and to all the participants who, despite their busy lives and ministry schedules, attended to share, reflect,
and be refreshed by God's holy presence.

Suh Family to Cambodia Missions

Hearts passionate and on fire to do missions work. That's what
Rev. Gil and Joyce Suh have as they recently accepted a call to do missions work in Cambodia.
With
their three young children, Gil and Joyce will wrap up their ministry at New Hope Korean CRC in San Jose, CA on June 29, 2008
and leave for Cambodia towards the end of the year.
A key part of their preparations is
to develop a concentric circle of partnerships with local CRCs, in effect a mix of praying, missions-minded, and financially
supporting congregations and individuals.
At the June 3-5 SEAPI retreat, with much enthusiasm
and gratefulness from Cambodian friends, Gil and Joyce were "laid hands on" and "sent" - a moving and
God-honoring activity by the retreat participants, and a pastor and elders of the Third CRC in Denver. One of the Cambodian
pastors who recently arrived in the US said, "The time is now to go into Cambodia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Another said, "In Cambodia, you will catch a lot of fish (fishers of men and women for the Lord)."

SEAPI Peer Learning Groups
- For 2008-2009, we formed two peer learning groups:
SEAPI-East and SEAPI-West
- Both were approved with one-year grants from the CRC-Lilly Sustaining
Pastoral Excellence Program
- Each group has at least 8 pastors as members
- Two youth leaders were also invited to join each group to be supported out of SEAPI funds
- This
is to prepare the next generation of leaders within a context of mentoring and pastoral excellence
- Read here the project proposals of SEAPI-East and SEAPI-West.
